All patients are required to complete a pre-operative appointment with Dr Perron and our Nursing Team. Our Administration team will prepare to finalise surgery documents, consents, payments and hospital queries. After the completion of your pre-operative consultation, you should feel informed and comfortable, however if you have any further questions or uncertainties, the option is always available and encouraged to re-attend for an additional bulk-billed pre-op.
Our nursing team will liaise with you in the lead up to your surgery date and provide all relevant information, including fasting instructions, admission details, and surgical times specific to your hospital. On the day of surgery, you can expect to see Dr Perron prior to heading into theatre, as well as immediately afterwards in recovery. Our dedicated anaesthetic team will also be in attendance, ensuring you feel comfortable, safe, and that your anaesthesia is carefully and expertly managed throughout your procedure.
At Herstellen Clinic, we value regular follow-up and ongoing support for our patients throughout their recovery. All post-operative patients are reviewed weekly for dressing changes for the first four weeks following surgery. A further appointment is then scheduled at the eight-week mark with Dr Perron to review your healing and overall progress.
During these visits, we carefully assess your recovery, provide guidance and support, and utilise our LED Healite therapy to help promote optimal healing which is a complimentary service to our patients. Once dressings have been removed, patients are also invited to meet with our dermal therapy team for a complimentary skin consultation, where personalised scar management options can be discussed.
At three months (12 weeks) post-operation, we begin formally reviewing your results. During this appointment, clinical photographs are taken to document your individual journey and assess your progress. We will also discuss whether any revision procedures, additional healing time, or further treatments may help optimise your final outcome. For some patients, this appointment may also provide an opportunity to begin planning any future procedures.
Understanding and supporting each patient’s journey is important to us, which is why we encourage all patients to return for further progress reviews at the six-month and twelve-month mark following their procedure. These follow-up appointments are bulk-billed and allow us to continue monitoring your results while providing ongoing guidance and support throughout your recovery.
Our aim is for you to be discharged from our care at the 12 month mark being completely satisfied with your surgical result and care. In this instance, we encourage patients to keep in contact with our Team to update us on your progress, along with any queries that you have beyond the 12-month mark. Dr Perron is always happy to see patients for review beyond the 12 month mark, however a new GP referral will be required. If you would like to explore additional offerings at Herstellen Clinic, we are thrilled to share that we can continue the relationship with our post-surgical patients, well beyond their surgical care has been completed.
